This home was designed for a local charity and then purchased by a lovely family from Winnipeg – The Campbells. With almost 5000 SF to play with, Marie began the process with finding the most amazing natural quartzite, which she used on the kitchen island. Armed with this beautiful jumping off point, the colours and tones branched off from this stone. Soft hues of warm gray, earthy citrine greens, chocolate and rich charcoals. The main floor and loft areas were designed for the woman of the house, by keeping the cabinetry white, bright, cheerful, details of carrara marble, rich warm hardwoods, quartz, milk glass, tone-on-tone wallpaper. The loft and main floor is all about entertaining in casual elegance. The basement is all about him! Dark sexy charcoal and chocolates give way to the same gray hues, adding in caramel. This home boosts all three metals showing that you can mix brushed nickel, chrome and antique gold. It was important for me to make this home feel “lived in”. More importantly was the attention to details such as the custom millwork on the main floor fireplace mantle, designed by Marie Hebson and locally fabricated. This high gloss white and split-face carrara and polished marble inlay is nothing short of spectacular. In the laundry room, you will find a custom designed opaque glass on the cabinetry. The typography spells “WASH, SORT, DRY” in a damask pattern, while the powder room floor shows spectacularly that you shouldn’t skimp in the small spaces. This powder room has a custom pattern of five different carrara marbles and milk glass mosaics to pamper your guests every senses!
