Revitalizing a popular restaurant
Owners Han and Kim Ngo asked us to overhaul and update Szechuan Castle’s interior after a fire.
To renovate the main dining, bar, waitress work stations and public washrooms. Our goal was to make the entire restaurant more functional, while appealing to both lunch and dinner patrons.
To entice clients to the buffet — the heart of Szechuan Castle’s business — we created an original river rock tile pattern of dragon breath swirls. We surrounded the reception desk with wallpaper in red and gold, enveloping clientele in traditional Chinese colours associated with happiness and beauty. Our changes gave Szechuan Castle a warm, inviting ambiance that suited its naturally hospitable owners. A client commented online, “[Szechuan Castle] has a nice modern look to it while still staying authentic. I would definitely recommend this establishment.”
